Rissoles Starters


Crumbed Portuguese turnovers with a sensational Jalapeno and creamy cheddar cheese filling. These delicious deep-fried turnovers are perfect for starters and entrées. It’s a fan favourite and our best seller at Foodmakers.

Total Time: 10 minutes

Prep Time: 5 minutes

Makes: 3 appetizers

Cook Time: 3 minutes



Defrost overnight in the refrigerator and deep fry at 170°C for ± 2 minutes or until golden brown.


Plating into a starter

What you will need:

  1. A plate

  2. Garnishes of your choice, we recommend using cherry tomatoes, lettuce, baby spinach, carrots, onions etc.

  3. Dipping sauce (We recommend a tomato relish)

  4. A small bowl for the dipping sauce



  1. Make sure your plated is clean

  2. Place lettuce or baby spinach at the base of your plate

  3. Place 3 rissoles in a line (angled as per image)

  4. Fill dipping sauce of choice into small bowl

  5. Serve and enjoy
